Craig D. Tifford, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Tifford received his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. Dr. Tifford then completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the internationally recognized Southern California Center for Sports Medicine in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Tifford is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and sub-specialty board certified by the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and an Active Member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Tifford is the author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters. He has presented and lectured at meetings nationwide. Additionally, he has appeared on radio and television including WABC, Fox and Connecticut News Channel 12. His areas of interest include athletic injuries, arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Tifford is an Associate Master Instructor at the Orthopedic Learning Center (OLC) in Rosemont, IL where he is involved in the teaching of arthroscopic surgery skills to surgeons from all over the world.
Dr. Tifford is a physician with Premier Medical Group, in Stamford, Connecticut and has been with the group since August, 2000. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Stamford Health Integrated Practices, a subsidiary of Stamford Health System that provides multi-specialty physician services. Dr. Tifford is also the President of the Craig D. Tifford Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of young men both during and after testicular cancer care.
